Ethos

The company ethos revolves around a genuine desire to enrich people's lives in a way that respects the community and the environment.

By sharing knowledge we encourage long term thinking in the design of a building. We recognize the need for a balance between investment criteria and individual needs along with impact on the community. We provide the skills of interpretation, intuition and translation to produce cohesive design solutions that use a balance of technologies and craftsmanship.

John Palmer

Director, Principal Architect. BArch. BBSc. NZIA

My approach to architecture is the desire to improve the quality of the built environment in order to enhance the experience of human interaction. I see architecture as a social act. A successful building is the result of joining form and function in a spiritual union. When this occurs everyone that interacts with the place, both the user and the public, are enriched.

As a 'big picture person' I am interested in the role of the architect in relation to the current global environmental and economic climate. I question how our combined knowledge, skills and artistic abilities within our practice can be best utilized to serve our greater community. I believe an architect must be able to 'prophesise' future conditions in order to respond to peoples needs in the best possible way.
